NEW ORLEANS – First-year head coach
Brock Moreaux completed his University of New Orleans Track and Field coaching staff with the addition of former CSUN All-American Hammer thrower

The Fresno native has been mentored by and coached alongside some of the most successful throwing coaches in collegiate athletics over the past several years including Florida assistant Erick Worksey, Grand Valley State assistant Matt Conley, former Virginia Tech Head Coach Greg Jack, and current UCLA Head Coach Sean Denard.
Loomis comes to the Lakefront after serving as the graduate assistant throws coach at Western Illinois from 2020-2022. While in Macomb, Loomis coached Jasmine Stokes into the school's top-10 list in the women's outdoor Hammer.

Loomis spent the 2016-2017 season as a volunteer throws coach for Modesto Junior College in his native California. While there Erick was instrumental in recruiting Matthew Gallego – winner of a Big 8 Championship, a CCCAA State Championship, and runner up in the Nor Cal Trials in the Hammer Throw.
During his two seasons as a student-athlete at CSUN, Erick won back-to-back Big West Championships in the Hammer Throw in 2018 and 2019 with throws of 210-3 and 217-11, earning first-team All-Conference both seasons. He still owns the best Hammer Throw in school history with a mark of 225-11 set in 2019, as well as the best Weight Throw with a mark of 67-6 ¼ also set in 2019.
Loomis qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary for the Hammer in 2018 and finished in third-place in the 2019 NCAA West Preliminary, earning second team All-American status after his 20

After his time as a student-athlete for the Matadors, Loomis spent the 2019-2020 season as a volunteer assistant for (UCLA throws) Sean Denard with the throwers at CSUN.
Erick was a four-year letterman in both wrestling and track and field for Sierra Pacific High School from 2010-2014. Loomis earned his Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from CSUN in 2019 and completed his Master of Sciences in Sports Management in 2022 at Western Illinois
HEAD COACH BROCK MOREAUX
"I am really excited to welcome Erick to our Privateer family! He immediately stood out during the interview process because of his enthusiasm, experience, and knowledge of the ins-and-outs of throwing. The fact that he has worked alongside some of the best coaches in our industry while developing student-athletes makes me excited that our throws will reach the goals we set for them."
ASSISTANT TRACK AND FIELD COACH ERICK LOOMIS
"I'm extremely excited and honored to be here at UNO, and to have the opportunity to work alongside Coach Brock and Coach Ben (Hibbert). After speaking with some of the student-athletes about their goals and aspirations I'm looking forward to the season and what's ahead for our Track and Field program. I can't wait to get the season started and help these young men and women reach their full potential – it's a great time to be a Privateer!"
