Beach Privateers Set for Southern Miss Invite

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The New Orleans Beach Volleyball program is set for an action packed weekend at the Southern Miss Invitational in Hattiesburg beginning with Southern Miss Friday at noon and Central Arkansas at 4:00 p.m. 

The Privateers (11-11) look for a rematch against the Golden Eagles in their second and third meetings this season after falling 3-2 to them at the Tiger Beach Invitational. Southern Miss, who is also 11-11 on the season, tied the program's win record on the first day of the Tiger Beach Invitational with wins over New Orleans and Spring Hill College and a 4-1 loss to #4 Florida State. On day two, the Golden Eagles lost two 3-0 decisions to No. 13 Washington and No. 5 LSU.

Central Arkansas enters the weekend 4-9 on the season and fresh off a 1-1 weekend in Nacogdoches, Texas with a win over Stephen F. Austin and a loss to Arizona. The Privateers have faced the Bears nine times dating back to 2018, and have won eight in a row, including three in April of 2022. 

The Nicholls Colonels enter the weekend on a 14-game losing skid, dating back to March 4.The Privateers are 3-0 against the Colonels this season. 

New Orleans will take on the host USM Golden Eagles on Friday, March 31st at 12:00 p.m. and then will take on UCA at 4:00 p.m. On Saturday, April 1st, the Privateers will take on UCA at 9:00 a.m. then Nicholls at 1:00 p.m., and USM at 3:00 p.m. to conclude the weekend.
