Privateer Men Set to Host Alcorn on Tuesday Before Opening Southland Conference Play on Wednesday.

NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans Men's Tennis Team (4-4) is set to host Alcorn State (2-12, 1-0 SWAC) on Tuesday afternoon before opening Southland Conference play when the Nicholls Colonels (5-5) come to town on Wednesday afternoon.

In singles play the Privateers are led by Lilian Dubois who has won four straight matches and boasts a 5-1 record overall split between flights four and six. Right behind him is Karmin Al-Amin with a 5-2 record evenly split between flights two and three. Overall, the Privateers are 26-19 in singles play this year – a .578 winning percentage.

On the doubles side Al-Amin and Matthew Armbruster are a perfect 6-0, while Espen Lagarde and Marcel Volz are also undefeated at 2-0. New Orleans is 14-7 in doubles this year with a winning percentage of .667.

UNO enters tomorrow's match on a 13 match winning streak against Alcorn State dating back to 2008. Statistical information on Alcorn State Tennis is unavailable.

Nicholls are led by Omar Morsay who has a 6-1 record in the first flight and the Colonels are 28-23 in singles competition this year. Antonio Sasso and Ricardo Machada are 4-4 in doubles for the Colonels who are 12-12 as a team this season in doubles.

The defending Southland Champions already faced Nicholls in the "Swords Up Challenge" during the fall with the men taking two out of three doubles matches, and all seven singles matches from the Colonels. A recap of that match is available here. The
Privateers have won four in a row against Nicholls, and five in a row on the Lakefront.

Both matches are part of doubleheaders with the Privateer women, first serve against Alcorn State is set for 11 a.m. while the match against Nicholls will begin around 2:30 p.m.
