Privateer Golf Goes Unbeaten at Grand Bear Match Play

FINAL RESULTS (GOLFSTAT)

SAUCIER – Playing in their first match play event in over 30 years the University of New Orleans went unbeaten on Monday at Grand Bear Golf Course.

The Privateers opened the morning against the hosts No. 63 Southern Miss and gave the Golden Eagles all they could ask for. Mason Roberts finished with a 2&1 victory over Tommy Latter, Ryan Fulton finished with a 3&2 victory over Ryan Dupuy, while Canon Clark and Kyle Bennett, a late replacement for Grayson Gilbert, both picked up half a point for UNO.

New Orleans controlled their afternoon match with the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns from opening tee until the final putt winning by a score of 4-2. Pepe De La Concepion Quilez picked up a 4&3 victory over Dylan Keatina, Clark notched a 2&1 win over Max Feistmantl, and Bennett won by a score of 3&1 over Eli Ortego. Roberts and Fulton both halved against the Cajuns as well.

New Orleans heads to San Antonio, Texas from on April 25-27 for the Southland Conference Championships. The tournament will take place at Hill Country Golf Club for the first time after spending the past several years at Stonebridge Ranch and Country Club in McKinney, Texas.
