NEW ORLEANS La.- The New Orleans Beach volleyball program opened the Privateer beach Invitational with a 3-2 victory over Stephen F. Austin Thursday. The Privateers dropped their second match 3-2 to the ULM Warhawks that evening.
The duo of seniorsÂ
Trinity Jackson and
Alexa Spartz led New Orleans with a 2-0 record today dominating both SFA and ULM. The two wins improved their season record to a team best 22-7.Â
In the first meeting against the Ladyjacks, Olivia Duhon and Kelly Johnson snagged the first point in straight sets. In response,
Serena Baumgart and Ivana de Carvahlo Peixe battled to victory in three sets to put New Orleans on the board.Â

Ania Esarte and Maria Ozeata to 11 points in straight sets to put the Ladyjacks up 2-1. Seniors
Valerie Vujnovich and
Hannah Volpi tied the match in three sets, while Jackson and Spartz put everything on the line in their three-set victory to win the overall match 3-2.
The ULM Warhawks got off to a quick start earning wins on courts four and five before clinching the match with a straight set win on court three. Ozeata and Esarte defeated Kaitlyn Nowak and Julia Blazek to give New Orleans its first point. Jackson and Spartz wrapped up competition with a high intensity win at court two in straight sets.
UP NEXT:Â The Privateers will open day two of the invitational with a rematch against SFA at 11:30 a.m. followed by a 3:00 p.m. match against Southeastern. Following the match, New Orleans Athletics will honor its five seniors who have been integral pieces to the success of the Privateer Beach Volleyball program.
