NEW ORLEANS – After a strong spring on the links University of New Orleans golfer
Ryan Fulton was named Second Team All-Louisiana by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association on Monday afternoon.
Fulton competed in all five tournaments during the spring for the Privateers with a 73.6 average over 15 rounds of play – a top-15 average in the Southland Conference this season, and the best on the team. His opening round score of 66 on March 27 at The Big Texan is tied with several Privateers for the fifth-lowest round in school history and included a remarkable streak of six birdies in seven holes.
The Crowley native finished in the top-5 twice this season including a second place finish at the Gulf Coast Collegiate, and a fifth place finish at The Big Texan. He also became the fifth student-athlete in school history to earn All-Southland honors after his ninth place finish at the Southland Championship in April.
Fulton is the 19
th UNO Golfer to be selected All-Louisiana, and the fifth since
Jeff Lorio was named head coach prior to the 2016-2017 season.
