NEW ORLEANS – Junior golfer
Maximilian Wojciechowski and the University of New Orleans Privateers continued to put up rounds at par or better during the opening two rounds of the Derek Dolenc Invitational on Monday afternoon.
Wojciechowski's excellent start to the season continued after the Berlin native finished with rounds of 70, and 68 to lead the Privateers on Monday afternoon. Max made seven birdies and the fourth eagle of his collegiate career (two at Wichita State, two at UNO) to finish his first 36-holes at 3-under-par.
During the first eight rounds of competition this season Wojciechowski has finished at par or better six times – with five of his last six rounds below par and two rounds under 70. In total he is 6-under par this season through the first two and a half tournaments.

Kyle Bennett also put up back-to-back sub-par rounds on Monday at Gateway National Golf links. Bennett made nine birdies during his opening 36-holes to finish with scores of 71, and 70 – good for 1-under par and tying him for 23
rd.
Ryan Fulton sits tied for 35
th after carding a 143 – including a second-round score of 69. The redshirt senior from Crawley now has seven rounds below 70 in his collegiate career, and the Privateers have five individual rounds below 70 so far this season split between Wojciechowski (2), Fulton (2) and Bennett (1).
Following first and second round scores of 284 (par) and 281 (3-under par) the New Orleans golf team has finished five of its opening eight rounds under par, and seven of its opening eight rounds at par or better. The five rounds below par this season have already surpassed last season's total, and matched the 2021-2022 season total.
University of New Orleans golf wraps up the Derek Dolenc Invitational tomorrow morning with a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. The Privateers will be paired with Lindenwood, Missouri State and Idaho with live scoring available on GolfStat.com

"We really had it going this afternoon – I think we were ten under yet again at one point. We just did not finish it off like we had hoped. We were way too sloppy coming down the stretch."
"We have too many good players to make the mistakes we made over the last few holes. That's on me and we will address that tonight and come out tomorrow and put up a good number and hopefully make a charge up the leaderboard."
