NEW ORLEANS – Under the leadership of inaugural head coach Ryan Havice, the New Orleans Beach Privateers are set to open their 2024 fall schedule at the Fall Coconut Beach tournament, taking place on Oct. 19-20.
The tournament will feature 44 different pairs divided into four competitive pools, with each team playing six matches. Teams participating include McNeese, Stephen F. Austin, Spring Hill College, Southeastern, Tulane, and Southern Miss. The first pool of play will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the final matches beginning at 5 p.m.
"I'm looking forward to seeing this team compete. We've spent the last two months in learning and growth mode. I'm excited to see this team now that they get to switch off the training mind and turn on the competition mind," Havice said.
"We've seen growth in different areas of our game, and I trust these athletes will be able to translate that into some competitive matches this weekend."
This marks the first of two fall events before the official season kicks off in February. The Privateers will wrap up their fall campaign at White Sands Beach, hosted by Tulane, on Nov. 22-23.
This year marks the third season that fall competition has been part of the NCAA beach volleyball calendar.
