COLUMBIA S.C.- The University of New Orleans beach volleyball team (6-5) had a strong showing at Wheeler Beach Bash South Carolina this weekend defeating EKU 3-2 and Tennessee Tech 5-0. The Privateers recorded two losses to North Florida (5-0), South Carolina (4-1).

Anne Marie Hardouin secured a win in straight sets at court three, as did sophomore Ahley Salazar and freshman Ola Filip at court five.
In the match against North Florida, Hardouin and Baumgart provided tough competition, narrowly losing 26-24 in the first set at court three. However, North Florida ultimately swept the Privateers in straight sets.
Hardouin and Baumgart also secured the only point for New Orleans against South Carolina, winning in straight sets and advancing to a 8-3 record as a pair this season. Freshman Stefanie Gonzalez and junior Ivana de Carvahlo Peixe forced a third set against the Gamecocks but fell short at 11 points, unable to clinch the victory.
The Privateers capped the weekend with a 5-0 sweep over Tennessee Tech with all pairs winning in straight sets. At court three, senior
Hannah Volpi paired with Hardouin for the first time and the two displayed pure dominance. They held the Golden Eagles to eight points in the second set to contribute to the sweep.
NEXT UP: New Orleans will return to its home state to face a Southand opponent in HCU in addition to UAB, Southern Miss, and Tampa March 15-16 in Youngsville.
