2024 Volleyball Schedule Released

– The New Orleans Privateers volleyball schedule for the upcoming 2024 season has been released and it includes four tournament weekends before a conference slate of 16 matches.

The Privateers will open the season on the road for the first two weeks. Opening week takes the Privateers to Jacksonville State for the Gamecock Classic. There, the Privateers will face the host, Jacksonville State along with Arkansas-Pine Bluff and West Georgia between Aug. 30-31.
 
Week two sees a trip to the Florida panhandle for fourth year head coach Ashley Preston and her squad. The Privateers will take part in the Florida A&M Invitational. The Privateers will play Jacksonville and Florida A&M on Sept. 6. A match against Southern follows on Sept. 7.
 
The Privateers open their Human Performance Center schedule with two opponents in week three. New Orleans will face Alcorn State (Sept. 14) and Florida A&M (Sept. 15). Both matches are scheduled for 12 p.m.
 
Then, New Orleans and Tulane will combine to host an invitational in week four. The Privateers will have a busy week with four matches over three days. It starts when the Privateers play UC-Riverside on Sept. 19 at 12 p.m. Two matches follow on Sept. 20 against Georgia State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. respectively. The weekend closes on Sept. 21 with a match against Louisiana Tech at 1 p.m.
 
Southland play opens with mostly in-state opponents. The conference slate begins on Sept. 28 at home against Lamar. Then, the Privateers will have six consecutive matches against in-state foes where they will play Southeastern, McNeese and Nicholls twice.
 
The back end will see more matches against the Texas schools. That portion begins in earnest on Oct. 17 when New Orleans travels to Stephen F. Austin, which also begins a three-match road swing. New Orleans will also travel to Lamar and UIW in that span.
 
New Orleans returns home for four straight against Stephen F. Austin, HCU, UTRGV and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The first of those matches will take place on Halloween night.
 
The regular season closes with a two-match road trip to Northwestern State (Nov. 14) and Texas A&M-Commerce (Nov. 16).
 
The Southland Tournament will take place from Nov. 21-24 at Southeastern.
