NEW ORLEANS – Head Coach
Jeff Lorio will once again shuffle his lineup as the University of New Orleans golf squad heads to Jonesboro, Ark. for the 2024 edition of the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday.
The tournament began as the ASU Indian Invitational in 1997 with the Privateers' first of eight appearances coming in 2013. Notably, New Orleans' best score at the event was 855 shot last season. All five Privateers last season finished with a score below 220 for the first time since the 2009 Squire Creek Invitational.
Brady Bennett holds the best individual finish and score at RidgePointe by a Privateer after finishing 16
th with a score of 220 in the 2021 Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate.
Britton Khalaf is set to make his Privateer debut at the No. 3 position in the lineup after redshirting last season. The graduate student joins a growing list of debuts this season with
Jude Bourque, Max Feistmantl,
Adam Trahan,
Garrett Trahan and
Tom Watson all having taken their first swings for the Privateers this fall.
FORMAT
The teams will play 36 holes of golf on Monday with another 18 on Tuesday morning. The Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate will use the shotgun format with tee times at 8:15 a.m. on Monday and 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday.

Arkansas State (host), Austin Peay, Eastern Illinois, Evansville, Jacksonville State, Lindenwood, Murray State, Nicholls State, Oklahoma Christian, Southeastern, Southern Indiana, Texas A&M-Commerce, Texas State, and UT-Martin.

New Orleans' streak of seven consecutive rounds of par or better came to an end during the final round, but the Privateers put up a score of 855 – good for seventh place. It was the first tournament since the 2009 Squire Creek Invitational that every competing Privateer finished with a score of 220 or below, and was a 42-stroke improvement on UNO's lowest ever team score at RidgePointe Country Club.
