NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers beach volleyball team will host a fall tournament this weekend that takes place over the next two days at the Privateer Beach Courts. First serve for both days is scheduled for 8 a.m.
There will be teams represented by New Orleans, Southeastern, Southern Miss and ULM at the tournament which will feature seven different pools.
New Orleans under second year Head Coach
Ryan Havice got their first bit of fall competition last month at the Fall Coconut Beach Invitational in Kenner. The Privateers played opponents from LSU, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Southern Miss, South Florida and McNeese.
Lindsey Neal and
Molly Perry went undefeated in the consolation pool in their division. They engineered three victories including one over defending Southland champion, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's pair in the same group.
In the bid division, the Privateers had two pairs participate. Both teams picked up wins over pairs from McNeese in the consolation bracket.
Lucianna Alexander and
Ashley Salazar lost in the opening round to the eventual bracket champions from LSU.
Brooke Dow and
Mona Salgado lost to a pair from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi that advanced to the semifinals.
Kylie Lyons and
Evy Neill also scored a victory against a pair from McNeese during the opening fall tournament. The tandem represents two of nine newcomers to the squad who will also play one other fall tournament at Tulane before turning their attention to the 2026 spring campaign.
