NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers beach volleyball team will host their first event this season when they participate in the Pontchartrain Beach Bash which will take place over the next two days at the Privateer Beach Courts.
New Orleans will welcome in College of Charleston, Southeastern and McNeese. The only match that will count toward the conference record is when the Privateers play Southeastern on Friday afternoon.
Also, Senior Day festivities will be held ahead of the Privateers' final match of the weekend against McNeese. The scheduled start time for Senior Day will be at 1:45 p.m.
SCHEDULE
Friday 11 am- New Orleans vs. Charleston
Friday 3 pm- New Orleans vs. Southeastern
Saturday 11 am- New Orleans vs. McNeese
Saturday 3 pm- New Orleans vs. McNeese
The Privateers went 3-1 at the Cowgirl Beach Bash last weekend. They picked up a win in their conference opener after defeating Stephen F. Austin. New Orleans also scored wins against Mary Hardin-Baylor and Texas A&M-Kingsville.
Ashley Salazar and
Brooke Dow went 4-0 over the weekend at flight two and they only dropped one set. The pair this season has gone 6-2.
The Privateers got two wins from
Renata Dykstra and
Jordan Madsen last weekend. That included a key victory against Stephen F. Austin that was scored in straight sets. They also won their match against Texas A&M-Kingsville.
Lucianna Alexander and
Kylie Lyons picked up wins against Mary Hardin-Baylor and Texas A&M-Kingsville. Cassie and
Ellie Sieling won their first two matches of the weekend with victories against SFA and Mary Hardin-Baylor.
