UPDATE 5:55 PM (MARCH 14)
The University of New Orleans Track and Field program will compete at the Cowboy Relays in Lake Charles instead of the Sean Brady Invitational. The Sean Brady Invitational has been cancelled due to the threat of inclement weather tomorrow morning/afternoon in Hammond. Live results will be available here via CPI Timing.
NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans track and field program hopes to avoid Saturday's forecast of severe thunderstorms and begin its 2025 outdoor season at the Sean Brady Invitational hosted by Southeastern.
Last season, the Privateers sent a small squad to the Strawberry Relays in Hammond.
Briana Bell took first place in the women's hammer throw.
Christina Davis finished fifth in the women's discus and seventh in the women's shot put, setting a personal best for the second consecutive week in the shot put.
New Orleans only sent three runners to Hammond last season:
Aryn Pitre ran in the women's 100 meters, while
Alex Soileau ran in the men's 1,500 meters with
Mason Appleton pacing him.
The Sean Brady Invitational gets underway for the Privateers at 9 a.m. with Davis in the women's shot put. The running events begin at 11 a.m. with the 4x100 relays. All other events will follow on a rolling schedule.
The meet is named after Sean Brady, who served as the Lions' track and field coach from 2001-2017. Brady is a former three-time Southland Coach of the Year and was the 2009 South Central Regional Co-Coach of the Year.
Fans can follow all with live results available
