NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Track and Field team is traveling to Austin, Texas for the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. The Privateers will only have 13 athletes participating this weekend: 5 women and 8 men.
Last year in Austin,
Madonna Favour, Darryle George Jr., and
Christopher Murphy were on the school record-breaking 4x100 relay team that ran a regional qualifying time of 39.45. They return this year in the same event, adding
Tshilidzi Netshiombo to the squad. For a majority of the New Orleans team, this will be their Clyde Littlefield debut.
Events for the Privateers begin Thursday (tomorrow), March 27, and will run through Saturday, March 29, with Saturday being specifically reserved for final heats.
In addition to the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays,
Evan Pardo will be in Raleigh, North Carolina on Thursday to compete in the 5K at the Raleigh Relays to attempt a regionals qualification in the event. Last year, Pardo ran in the Texas Relays and set a new school outdoor record in the 5K with a 14:18.20 time. He will be the only athlete traveling to North Carolina.
