NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans golf team sits in 10
th place after the first two rounds of the Southland Championship. The Privateers improved one stroke on their first-round score carding a 304 at Comanche Trace on Tuesday afternoon.
Senior
Matt Weber improved 12 strokes following a rough outing during round one. The Lafayette native shot a 73 on Tuesday – the lowest score by a Privateer during the second round. Matt made four birdie putts during round two, also the most by Privateer on Tuesday.
Tom Watson sits highest in the individual leaderboard for New Orleans at 28
th. Watson's 36-hole score is 150 after rounds of 74 and 76. He leads UNO in both birdies made (7) and pars made (21).
Rounding out Tuesday's scoring for the Privateers were
Garrett Trahan who sits tied for 39
th with a score of 152,
Maximilian Wojciechowski who sits tied for 41
st at 153, and
Taylor Boasberg who sits in 54
th place with a score of 165.
Augusta (565) has a four-stroke lead over UIW (569), and Bo Blanchard (Augusta) has a three-stroke lead over Ken-Marten Soo (UIW) headed into Wednesday's final round.
