KERRVILLE, Texas –
Tom Watson scored an eagle on the front nine as the New Orleans Privateers improved seven strokes in the final round of the Southland Tournament on Wednesday. The Privateers finished in 10
th place for the tournament.
Watson's eagle came on the par-5 fourth. He also hit birdies on holes nine and 12 as he carded a 1-over 73 on the day. Watson was the highest finishing individual Privateer in a tie for 26
th place.
Maximilian Wojciechowski moved up five spots on the day as he also finished the final round with a 73. Wojciechowski made consecutive birdies to finish up the front nine and had three total birdies on the day.
Britton Khalaf shot a 75 and made three birdies for the round after subbing into the lineup.
Matt Weber finished with a 76 while
Garrett Trahan rounded out the lineup with a 77. Trahan hit three birdies on the front nine.
Augusta took the team championship after finishing at 21-under for the three-round event. Bo Blanchard of Augusta finished first among all individuals after going 16-under par. Ken-Marten Soo of UIW finished second at 12-under par. UIW also finished second in the team championship, nine strokes behind Augusta.
UTRGV was the only other team under par for the tournament as they finished third at 2-under.
