NEW ORLEANS – Madonna Favour's winning performance in the 100m dash topped accomplishments for the New Orleans Track & Field team as they put in work at TCU's Horned Frog Invitational.
Madonna Favour finished the day off strong for the Privateers in Fort Worth. His 10.20 time in the men's 100m dash topped the event and moved him up on several top performance lists. The second-place finisher, Marcellus Moore, trailed Favour by 0.11 seconds. In the Southland Conference, Favour now holds 3
rd place on the 100m performance list. His time is also the new No. 8 on the D1 South Central list, No. 26 on the D1 East list, and No. 44 on the D1 overall list. This was a significant personal best for Favour, shedding 0.18 seconds off his previous record of 10.38 that he set at the Lurline Hamilton Invitational. He is now the 5
th top-performing male 100m athlete in school history.
Following Favour's result in the men's 100m,
Christopher Murphy ran a personal best of 10.46, placing 7
th.
Helen Baumgarten also saw notable results in her two events today. She leaped to a new long jump personal best of 5.61 meters, placing 13
th overall. In the women's 100m hurdles, she placed 7
th with another strong sub-14 finish of 13.99.
In the men's 400m,
Travian Johnson ran a big season best of 48.42. He set his current personal record (48.13) last year at the 2024 Region VI Championships.
After several weeks away, freshman
Layden Jack also returned to the track, competing in the women's 400m and the women's 200m. Jack placed 6
th in the 400m with a time of 55.99; she ran a 25.48 race in the 200m, placing 16
th.
Finally,
Mason Appleton ran another sub-4 1500m race, finishing 11
th with a 3:59.15 time.

The Privateers have reached championship season! They are set to compete in the 2025 Southland Conference Championships, held in Houston, Texas, starting May 15 and running through May 17 at the Wendel D. Ley Track & Holloway Field.
