NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans Track and Field teams are headed to Birmingham, Ala. for the 2026 Southland Indoor Championships. The meet takes place on Feb. 25-26 at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
Jose Rodriguez broke the school's indoor 600 meter and 800 meter records this season and notched a second place finish at South Alabama's Jaguar Invitational on Feb. 1. Rodriguez' time of 1:50.51 is the No. 2 time in the Southland this season.
Mason Appleton heads into the Championships with a top-10 time in the Southland at 5,000 meters. He finished his run at the Music City Challenge in 15:06.84 – a new personal best for the senior.
On the women's side,
Anais Sulpice has a Southland top-10 time at 800 meters – 2:14.93.
Erin Grime and
London Parker both sit just outside the top-10 in the league with times of 2:17.26, and 2:17.86.
