NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers women's tennis teams will take on three opponents over the next five days. It starts with a 2 p.m. match on Saturday against Southeastern. The Privateers will then host McNeese at 11 a.m. on Monday before traveling to Southern Miss next Wednesday at 2 p.m.
The Privateers were narrowly defeated 4-3 by UIW in their most recent match. New Orleans won the doubles point, but the Cardinals got ahead early in the third set of the deciding match at flight six.
Fleur Sprengers continues her strong run through the season in singles. She now has an 11-1 mark after notching a 6-2, 7-5 win against Estefania Gonzalez of UIW. Currently, Sprengers has the best record in a single season since Lina Hohnhold went 12-1 in the 2020-21 season.
Kateryna Kalistratova continues to be the master of the three-set matches. She has won all four such decisions this year and dating back to the spring of 2025, Kalistratova has won nine of her last 10 matches that have gone three sets. On the season, Kalistratova is 9-2 in singles and a 7-5 mark in doubles.
Ananya Dhankhar has a 6-5 mark in singles on the year and is 2-2 against Southland opponents. Dhankhar has three-set wins against opponents from Northwestern State and Lamar.
Dating back to 2016, the Privateers are 7-4 against Southeastern but the Lions have won four of the last five matches. McNeese comes into the weekend with a 14-1 record. The Privateers defeated Southern Miss 4-2 in February 2025.
