The Privateers (11-13) went 2-2 last week at the Battle on the Bayou in Baton Rouge. New Orleans won 3-2 against Texas A&M-Kingsville and finished the weekend with a 4-1 victory against Spring Hill.
Cassie and
Ellie Sieling have run their winning streak to 11 straight matches, the longest by a Privateer duo since 2022. The Sieling sisters are 18-5 together at flight one and have won eight of their 11 matches in this streak in straight sets.
Brooke Dow and
Ashley Salazar continue to be a steady force at flight two for the Privateers. They went 3-1 while paired together last weekend in Baton Rouge and the duo is 14-8 on the year.
It's the last weekend before the conference tournament which will see the Privateers open up as the 5-seed. Their first round match will be against 4-seed HCU whom the Privateers lost to by the score of 3-2 in the Southland Mid-Conference.
On top of playing a second nationally ranked opponent in Arizona, the Privateers will match up against Tulane who is also receiving votes in the latest AVCA poll. The Privateers will be playing Southern Miss, FIU and ULM for the first time this season.
