Murayama Wins Grub Mart Invitational; Privateers Take Second

DAY ONE RESULTS | FINAL RESULTS

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (Mar. 21, 2006) -
Kenji Murayama had a final round 74 to win the individual championship, while UNO finished second Tuesday at the Grub Mart Intercollegiate, hosted at the par-72, 6,902 yard Silver Lakes Golf Course on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.

Murayama (-5), who set a tournament record Monday with a 65, won the individual title by one stroke over Jacksonville State's Daniel Willett (-4).

UNO (+2) had a five stroke lead going into the final round, but Jacksonville State (-1) shot eight under par on the final day to take the team title by three strokes.

Morehead State (+5) finished third in the 14-team field, followed by Armstrong Atlantic (+9), Birmingham Southern (+15), Samford (+15), Columbus St. (+16), Tennessee Tech (+17), Tennessee-Martin (+18), Troy (+21), Belmont (+22), Evansville (+32), Lipscomb (+39) and Stetson (+50).

UNO's Anthony Cantu (+2) and Mitch Ellis (+2) tied for 13th place after shooting respective final rounds of 75 and 74, while Adam Collins (+5) and Jason Kuperman (+5) finished with rounds of 77 and 75 to tie for 31st.
