Men's Golf Takes Second at Dick Wittcoff Invitational

ROUNDS 1 & 2 RECAP | FINAL RESULTS

TAMPA (Mar. 5, 2006) -
The University of New Orleans men's golf team finished one stroke behind Middle Tennessee to take second at the Dick Wittcoff Invitational held Sunday at the par-71, 6,830 yard University of South Florida Golf Course.

UNO (+20) shot a team total of 291 on the final day as Middle Tennessee (+19) made up two strokes to take the team title.

Nebraska (+30) finished third in the 18-team field, followed by Missouri St. (+36), Florida Southern (+36), Marquette (+37), Jacksonville St. (+37), Columbus St. (+44), DePaul (+47), Austin Peay (+49), Oral Roberts (+49), Furman (+51), Arkansas St. (+57), South Florida (+58), Troy (+60), Bowling Green (+75), St. John's (+76) and Florida Atlantic (+76).

Kenji Murayama (+4) was the top Privateer finisher in sixth place after hitting a final round 69.

Jason Kuperman (+5) was a co-leader heading into play on Sunday, but he finished in an eighth place tie after firing a 77.

Adam Collins (+8) tied for 18th place after shooting a final round 71, while Adam Cornelson (+10) ended the competition tied for 19th as he finished up with a 74. Anthony Cantu (+11) was one stroke back in a 27th place tie as he ended play with a 77.

Florida Southern's Greg Koch (-2) shot a final round 70 to take the individual championship.
