NATCHITOCHES, La. - Leadoff hitter Bryson Myles scored four runs and stole four bases as Stephen F. Austin broke out the bats in a 16-7 victory over the University of New Orleans on Sunday afternoon during the final day of the Northwestern State Invitational.

The top of the lineup packed a punch for an SFA (4-4) offense that tallied 11 hits and took advantage of seven UNO (1-6) miscues in the field.  The Lumberjacks finished the tournament 2-1 with the Privateers rounding out their weekend 0-3.

The SFA starters in the top three positions of the lineup accounted for 10 of the 16 runs by hitting 6-for-12 at the plate.

Myles led the effort and was joined by Garrett Smith and Jarid Scarafiotti. Smith went 2-for-3 with four runs and two RBIs with Scarafiottia driving in four runs and scoring twice himself.

Lumberjack starting pitcher Justin Braddock (1-1) worked five innings on the mound for the victory. The right-handed pitcher allowed two runs - one earned - over five innings while limiting the 20 batters he faced to just three hits.

Garrett Manning (0-2) took the loss for UNO in his second start of the season, allowing six runs - five earned - on three hits in two innings. Of five relief pitchers, Jonathan Carbo, Coby Landry and Scott Stonestreet came through to each pitch a scoreless inning of relief for the Privateers.

Cameron Wheeless scored three runs despite a 1-for-3 effort at the plate for UNO. Nolan Church continued his hitting streak with a 2-for-4 performance with Andrew Garcia topping the Privateer efforts with two RBIs.

SFA scored three runs apiece in the first and second inning to chase Manning. UNO bounced back with two in the fourth before the Lumberjacks combined to score 10 runs over the middle three innings to build up a 16-2 advantage.

The Privateers added two runs in the sixth, a single run in the eighth and two more in the ninth to cut into the deficit.

UNO will continue its road show on Thursday, Mar. 3 to start a three-day, three-game tournament at Dallas Baptist. The Privateers open with the host DBU on Thursday before challenging Wichita State and UT-Arlington over the next two days.
