NEW ORLEANS – The Southland Conference released the Commissioner's List for the spring semester and the New Orleans Privateers placed 106 student-athletes between men's and women's basketball, men's and women's tennis, beach volleyball, golf, baseball and track and field.
Â
That total, combined with the 32 student-athletes who made the Fall Commissioner's List makes 138 total student-athletes who earned a spot on the list. That is the highest total since New Orleans joined the Southland in 2013.
Â
There were 30 baseball student-athletes who made the Commissioner's List. Track and Field had 25 total (13 men and 12 women). Basketball earned 19 spots (11 women and eight men). Tennis had a total of 14 student-athletes (eight men and six women). Beach Volleyball had 12 student-athletes and Golf had six student-athletes that made the list.
Â
To earn Southland Commissioner's List honors, a student-athlete has to earn at least a 3.0 grade point average for the semester and be eligible to compete in his/her sport.
Â
Of the 106 student-athletes who made the Southland Commissioner's List, there were 37 who earned a perfect 4.0 GPA. The GPA across all sports for the spring semester was a 3.233.
Â
Men's and Women's Tennis had the highest team GPAs across all athletic programs as they both earned above a 3.9.
