TROY, Ala. – Troy claimed both ends of a Saturday twinbill, defeating the University of New Orleans 9-2 in the first game, before concluding the sweep with a 7-3 victory in the nightcap.

In the opener, the Privateers tallied more hits than an opponent for the third time this season and the first since the opening weekend. The nine hits, compared to eight for the Trojans, did not come at an opportune time as the squad stranded 10 for the game

Drew Hull (3-0) picked up the win after throwing five innings and allowing just two runs on six hits, while striking out five.
The Trojans scored four runs over the first two innings, ending the day for UNO starter Cory Myers, who gave up four runs – three earned – on two hits and three walks during 1 2/3 innings of work.
The Privateers cut into the deficit in the third inning with a pair of runs as Blake DesRoches singled in Beau Boudreaux, while a Cameron Wheeless sacrifice fly brought Steffan Farrell home to score. Farrell paced the Privateers in the opening game with a 2-for-4 performance at the plate with Nolan Church adding two hits in five plate appearances.
The Trojans added a single run in the bottom of the third before tallying three runs in the sixth and one more in the eighth.
In the second game, Troy struck in bunches, scoring four runs in the second inning and two more in the fourth inning for an early advantage against UNO starter Corey Laudermill. Laudermill (0-1), making his first collegiate start, lasted five innings and allowed six runs on nine hits.
Daniel Peterson was 2-for-5 from the leadoff position with four RBIs, bolstered by a two-run home run in the fourth inning.
Ryan Sorce (2-1) was the winner for the Trojans, going six innings and allowing two runs on seven hits. UNO posted both runs on Sorce in the fifth inning when the Privateers put together four consecutive hits including consecutive doubles by Wheeless and Andrew Garcia.
UNO added another run in the seventh when Blake LeBlanc hit a sacrifice fly to score Chris Geronimo and cut the deficit to three. The Trojans scored the final run in the seventh.
Beau Boudreaux, Hunter Boudreaux, Garcia and Geronimo all produced two hits apiece in the nightcap as the Privateers pounded out nine hits for the second straight game.
