SAN DIEGO - Two teams will hit the field at Cunningham Stadium in San Diego seeking to snap losing streaks as the University of San Diego hosts New Orleans for a four-game series.

The teams will play Friday at 5 p.m. CT before contesting a 2 p.m. CT doubleheader on Saturday with the series finale set for Sunday at 3 p.m.

All four games will have live stats and audio available at USDToreros.com.

Entering this weekend, UNO (1-23) leads the nation with its 22-game losing streak and will face a USD (4-17) program that is fourth in the nation with nine consecutive losses. North Carolina Central's 12-game and New Jersey Tech's 10-game skid stands between the two schools.

Despite the results as of late, the Privateers have turned the corner on the mound.

The team's ERA has dropped over two runs per contest from a high of 12.86 on Mar. 11 to team's current 10.64 mark. Zach Kelt (1-4, 8.67 ERA) is the Friday starter and the only announced pitcher this weekend.

A few timely hits could make a world of difference for a UNO team that is struggling to score runs, posting shutouts in 3 of 4 games and without a score in its last 21 innings. The Privateers have left 17 players on base over the four contests while grounding into five double plays.

Beau Boudreaux has been a bright spot for the UNO offense with a .333 batting average over the last four games on 5-of-15 hitting. Boudreaux tallied three hits in a Wednesday night loss against Southeastern Louisiana, becoming the third Privateer with at least three hits in a single contest this year.

USD's results have not been as expected. The Toreros were tabbed as the West Coast Conference favorites this preseason by a unanimous vote of league coaches. The team which found itself nationally ranked at the beginning of the season, has slipped.

Included in the current nine-game losing streak was a 22-inning loss to No. 9 Fresno State that set the NCAA record as the longest in terms of time at seven hours and 22 minutes. The 22-inning game was the third longest in NCAA history and with 28 strikeouts by the USD pitching staff, just three strikeouts shy of the all-time mark.

Zach Komentani is one of the top hitters for the Toreros with a .342 batting average to go with a team-leading 18 RBIs.  USD is hitting .236 as a team this year while its pitching staff has a 5.20 ERA.

Calvin Drummond (1-4, 4.68 ERA) is the scheduled starter for the Toreros on Friday.

Following UNO's second trip to California in as many weeks, the Privateers will head to Thibodaux, La. for a game against Nicholls State on Tuesday. Start time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
