UNO Game Notes vs Nicholls
THIBODAUX, La. – The University of New Orleans snapped one streak over the weekend and will look to snap another on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. as the baseball team travels to Nicholls State.

UNO (2-26) is 0-5 against the Southland Conference this year with four more games against the league this season, beginning with Wednesday night's contest against NSU (12-15, entering Tuesday).
The Privateers are coming off a weekend in which their batting average increased with each game against West Coast Conference preseason favorite San Diego. UNO started with a .219 team batting average in the opener before hitting .246 on 10-of-36 hitting in the series finale.
Beau Boudreaux and Steffan Farrell provided the spark the team needed at the plate last week with Boudreaux batting 10-of-20 over five games and Farrell hitting a robust 6-of-12 against USD. Farrell, who added a home run on the weekend, had just one hit in his previous 23 plate appearances before breaking out the bats against the Toreros.
Right-handed pitcher Kyle Blancaneaux (0-0, 15.43 ERA) will make his first collegiate start on Wednesday. Blancaneaux threw five innings on Apr. 1 against USD, allowing five runs on nine hits in his longest outing of the season.
The Colonels will be playing their second game in as many days as the team was scheduled to host Southern (B.R.) in New Iberia, La. on Tuesday night.
Entering the Tuesday contest, NSU had won 4 of 5 contests, including 2 of 3 against UT-Arlington at home in a SLC series. Despite the recent wins, the Colonels are 3-9 in league play and need to continue that success as of late if they want to re-visit the SLC tournament, an event they qualified for last year for the first time since 2000.
Left-handed pitcher Brad Delatte (1-3, 9.69 ERA) is expected to making his second start of the season for NSU. Delatte allowed just one hit in his previous start against Alcorn State on Mar. 30 over three innings before being roughed up for four runs on three hits in 2/3 inning by UT-A on Apr. 1.
Like the Privateers, NSU has struggled at the plate with Chase Jaramillo representing the lone Colonel hitting over .260 on the season. Jaramillo has posted a .394 batting average with three home runs, 22 runs and 14 RBIs to pace the squad.
Following Wednesday's game, UNO will head to Normal, Ala. for a three-game series against Alabama A&M. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday at noon before a single game awaits on Sunday.
