Friday's UNO-LSU Men's Tennis Match Postponed

Threat of Inclement Weather Pushes Dual to Feb. 26

Updated UNO Men's Tennis Schedule

NEW ORLEANS - The University of New Orleans and LSU men's tennis teams have announced their Friday match in Baton Rouge, La. has been postponed due to inclement weather.

With the impending threat of rain, in addition to the drop in temperatures, the coaches from both team universities have agreed to play on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. at W.T. "Dub" Robinson Tennis Stadium.

The UNO men are 1-1 on the season after defeating Alcorn State 7-2 on Wednesday.

"I thought we played against a very talented Alcorn team,” said head coach Burzis Kanga. “The difference in this match had to do with how well our players were physically and mentally prepared.”

With the postponement, the Privateers will next take to the court against West Florida on Feb. 17 at the University Tennis Center at 11 a.m. Kanga feels the extended time will be beneficial to his team.

"The delay has allowed us to prepare for both the UWF and LSU matches individually, rather than collectively,” said Kanga. “This also gives our team an opportunity to rest and in the case of our players dealing with injuries, a chance to heal.”

Admission is free to all matches at the University Tennis Center.
