NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans baseball team will play four games in three days beginning on Saturday with a 2 p.m. doubleheader against West Georgia at Maestri Field.

A single-game on Sunday to close out the series against UWG (15-10) is followed by a single game on Monday at 6 p.m. at Spring Hill. All three home games will feature radio coverage on WGSO 990 AM.

UNO (9-10) has dropped its last two games, falling narrowly on the road to Alabama-Huntsville 6-3 last Sunday and at Nicholls by a 6-4 result on Tuesday.

The Privateer offense has turned the corner and is just looking for the timely hit to get over the top.

UNO has tallied at least 10 hits in four of its last five games, a feat it accomplished just four times in the first 14 contests of the season. Brandon Simon is hitting .421 during the five-game stretch, leading a group of four Privateers hitting at least .333 during the time frame.

Overall, Beau Boudreaux at .327 joins regulars Dan Perkins (.314), Blake LeBlanc (.304) and Clint Coleman (.302) with batting averages over .300.

UNO's weekend rotation last week at UAH consisted of right-handed pitchers Christian Cale (3-0, 3.82 ERA) and Cory Myers (1-0, 6.75) alongside southpaw Stone Speer (1-3, 5.96). Fellow weekend regular Jake Fabre (3-3, 3.75) started Tuesday at NSU.

UWG has won two of their last six games, falling to NAIA member Reinhardt 13-2 in their most recent contest.

Evan Hester is hitting .370 with 19 runs, 11 doubles and 22 RBIs to lead the Wolves. UWG's Galen Smith, who played with UNO's Perkins at Cleveland State last season, is second on the squad with a .359 average.

Weekend starters for UWG consist of Cody Skinner (4-1, 2.43 ERA), Seth McClure (2-1, 2.87) and Max Aeschlimann (3-3, 3.53). All three are right-handed pitchers.

Monday's opponent SHC is 13-15 entering a weekend series against Belhaven. The Badgers already own a 15-6 win against the Privateers on Feb. 28.

SHC is led offensively by Brian Sims and Andy Robbins with .361 and .323 batting averages, respectively. In the previous outing against UNO, the Badgers started Mandeville, La. native Daniel Pitfield (2-1, 3.96 ERA).

Following Monday's contest, the Privateers will resume their slate with a three-game series in Memphis against Christian Brothers.
