NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans baseball team will welcome McNeese State to Maestri Field on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. before embarking on a season-long 10-game road stretch on Wednesday, beginning at 4 p.m. against William Carey.

Tuesday's contest will be broadcast on WGSO 990 AM and WGSO.com with live stat updates on UNOPrivateers.com. Wednesday's game will have live stats available through CareyAthletics.com.

At the plate and on the mound, UNO (12-18) has found more success on the road – which suits the team well heading into this final stretch in which 10 of 14 games will take place outside of the Crescent City.

In addition to an 8-6 mark away from Maestri Field, the Privateers are hitting .287 on the road compared to .242 at home. Clint Coleman and Dan Perkins have matching .346 batting averages on the road to lead five UNO players over .300.

The pitching staff's 4.04 ERA in away contests represents over a two-run improvement from its 6.18 mark on the Lakefront. Opponents are hitting just .268 on the road while surpassing .300 at Maestri Field.

Overall, Coleman's .330 batting average and 19 RBIs lead the Privateers. Cameron Wheeless is second on the team at .314 while Blake LeBlanc's current nine-game hitting streak has upped the outfielder's batting average to .311 on the season. LeBlanc can tie Coleman for the season's longest hitting streak on Tuesday.

Cory Hoffman (2-1, 3.12 ERA) is a likely starter on Tuesday for the Privateers, who outside of this past weekend's rotation have started Christian Cale (3-1, 4.50) and Casey Kelton (0-0, 6.00 ) this year.

MSU (12-17) dropped 2 of 3 over the weekend to UTSA after being held to just three hits over the second two contests of the series. The Cowboys have cooled off from a stretch in which the team won 6 of 7 contests towards the end of March.

Jason Gibson (0-1, 7.71 ERA) started MSU's mid-week contest against Houston last week and could get the nod on Tuesday. A .310 batting average by Seth Granger leads the Pokes, who also get a .302 clip from Collin Todd.

WCU (25-18) defeated UNO 7-4 on Feb. 8 at Maestri Field. The Crusaders claimed 2 of 3 over the weekend against the NAIA's No. 22 ranked Belhaven and will face Union on Tuesday.

Jackson Posey and Ernie Triplett are the top hitters with batting averages of .333 and .331, respectively for WCU. Midweek starters for the Crusaders have included Michael Coelho (3-0, 6.39 ERA) and Daniel Margheim (1-0, 3.65).

Following the two mid-week contests, the Privateers will continue their season with a three-game series at Delta State this weekend. The two teams will play a Saturday doubleheader at 3 p.m. before a single game on Sunday at 2 p.m.
