Privateers Take on Utah Valley in Final Non-Conference Game

UNO Heads West for Longest Road Trip of Season

Orem, Utah. - The New Orleans Privateers (0-10) are looking to break a 10-game road losing streak against the Utah Valley University Wolverines (2-10) when they travel to Orem, Utah on Saturday.

Saturday's game will be just the second meeting between the two schools. Last year on senior day the Privateers pulled off a 55-51 victory, earning their first home victory over a Division 1 team since 2010. The Privateers were led in that contest by seniors Keri Thomas (15 points), Mechel'le Thomas (14 points) and Mirjam Sipos (7 points).

In last Saturday's loss against Southern Miss three Privateers scored in double-figures, the first time this season that has happened. Junior forward Melissa Jensen led the way pouring in a career-high 16 points along with 7 rebounds to lead the squad.

Octavia Wilson scored 12 points against USM, and is averaging 15.0 points per game in three contests since being inserted into the starting lineup. Wilson has also hit 10 triples in her last four games.

Danielle Davis achieved double figures for the second time this season, when she notched 10 points against the Lady Eagles. Davis also hauled in a season-high 6 rebounds. She currently ranks second on the team in three-pointers made.

The Wolverines are led offensively by Katie Kuklok who had to sit out last year due to NCAA transfer rules. Kuklok is averaging 20.2 points per game, and is shooting a blistering 50.7% (44-87) from three-point range. She is also second on the team in boards with 5.9 per contest.

Utah Valley broke a nine-game losing streak in their most recent outing, a 59-56 win over Idaho State on Dec 20. Rhaiah Knight-Spooner scored a team-high 21 points in the win. The Wolverines' only other win came in the second game of the season when they thumped Walla Walla University 114-27.

Tip is set for 4 p.m. CST. Audio of the game will be available on www.unoprivateers.com with the broadcast starting at 3:50 p.m. CST.
