NEW ORLEANS – For a third straight week, the New Orleans baseball team will play a pair of mid-week contests, hosting Nicholls State on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. before traveling to Jackson State on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. game.

Tuesday's contest will be broadcast on WGSO 990 AM and WGSO.com with live stats and video accessible through UNOPrivateers.com. Wednesday's game will feature live video on JSUTigers.com.

UNO (6-36) dropped three games over the weekend to No. 10 Oklahoma in Norman, Okla.

Andre Damiens was the Privateers' top hitter during the series, producing a .444 batting average on 4-of-9 hitting along with a home run, two runs and three RBIs.

Zach Liberto also hit above .300 against the Sooners, collecting three hits in nine official plate appearances. Liberto heads into the week with hits in his last four games and 14 of the last 16. The infielder's 10-game hitting streak earlier this season is tied for the longest for a UNO player during head coach Bruce Peddie's tenure at the helm of the program.

The offense will look to support the pitching of LHP Stephen Potter (0-3, 7.20 ERA) on Tuesday and RHP Daniel Martinez (0-2, 6.60 ERA) on Wednesday.

Potter threw a career-long 4.1 innings against Tulane last week, allowing a single hit and a pair of unearned runs during his stint.
Martinez also went a career-long in his most recent start, going eight innings against Georgia State, allowing four runs on six hits in the contest in which he left with a 5-4 lead. The Newman product threw five scoreless innings in his last meeting with Wednesday's foe JSU (22-18), a game UNO won 1-0 on Apr. 2.

Before playing the Tigers, the Privateers' foe is a NSU (21-20) squad that has won four in a row after sweeping McNeese State this past weekend. The Colonels are 5-10 in Southland play after a 1-9 start to the conference slate.

Matt Richard is the top hitter for NSU, producing a .340 batting average with a team-high 31 runs. Keith Cormier (.329, 16 runs, 30 RBI) and Tyler Duplantis (.309, 23 runs) also contribute to an offense that scored 14 runs in a 14-4 win over the Privateers on Mar. 26 in Thibodaux, La.

LHP Taylor Byrd (4-3, 2.89 ERA) will draw the start for the Colonels. Byrd has been a weekend starter throughout the season, making nine starts including a complete game at San Jose State on Mar. 17.

On Wednesday, UNO will attempt to spoil things for a JSU program that is 12-6 at Braddy Field this year.

No starting pitcher has been named for the Tigers, who threw RHP Aneko Kowles (3-2, 6.94 ERA) in the last meeting against the Privateers. Knowles is likely unavailable after going 6.2 innings on Sunday, making LHP Brandon Gregory (4-4, 8.20 ERA) an option. Gregory has started nine contests to date, including JSU's last mid-week game at Southeastern Louisiana.

The Tigers are led Charles Tilery, who is atop the club in batting average (.350), runs (38) and hits (48). Bryce Taylor (.339, 28 runs, 19 RBI) is second on the squad in hitting and is one of four regulars batting over .300 for JSU.

Following the mid-week games, UNO will return to Barrow this weekend. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned to UNOPrivateers.com for an announcement regarding a change in schedule.
