NEW ORLEANS, La. – The New Orleans Privateers women's tennis team (3-3, 0-1) faces their stiffest test of the season when they face the 37
th ranked LSU Tigers (6-2) on Wednesday in a neutral site match at City Park. The match is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.
New Orleans got out to a 3-1 start, but has since lost a tight match at Louisiana-Monroe followed by their conference opener at Abilene Christian in which they earned only one point. The Privateers have played five of their first six matches in the spring away from the University Tennis Center.
Anna Segarra Rius is out to a similar start as she was in her freshman season. Segarra has alternated between the 3 and 4 spot in singles and is 5-0. Segarra picked up the only point for the Privateers last Friday at Abilene Christian.
The doubles combinations for the Privateers have resulted in earning the first point of the match four out of six times.

Hafsa Laraibi are currently 4-2 in doubles matches on the season from the 3 position.
LSU is coming off a 7-0 win over 69
th-ranked North Carolina State on Sunday. The Tigers boast two players who are ranked in singles coming into Wednesday. Joana Vale Costa checks in at 29
th in the nation while Skylar Kuykendall is positioned in 87
th in the latest ITA rankings.
Costa racked up 14 tournament wins in the fall and is 4-2 so far in the spring while playing at the 1 position. Kukyendall is 6-2 so far in the spring and carries a 13-3 mark on the year. The Tigers have played three ranked opponents so far in spring.
