THE GAME:
The New Orleans Privateers baseball team (8-11, 2-4 Southland) comes off a 2-1 weekend to face the Southern Miss Golden Eagles (11-7-1, 2-1 C-USA) for the second time this season at Maestri Field at First NBC Ballpark on Tuesday. First pitch is for 6:30 p.m.

The Privateers took their first conference series since May 2009, defeating Stephen F. Austin in two of three games on the weekend. Ryan Calloway scored three runs in a game for the second time this season and the Privateers did not allow a run after the sixth inning in any of the three games on the weekend.

Southern Miss won the final game of their opening conference series against Florida International 10-0. The game was called after seven innings on the run rule. The game was scoreless through five innings, but Southern Miss exploded for all 10 of their runs in the sixth inning to take two out of three in the series. It was the third time this season Southern Miss has scored double digit runs in a game.

Matt Durst leads the club with a .358 batting average and 12 RBIs. Durst won the team's triple crown last year, leading the team in batting average, home runs, and RBIs. He became the first Golden Eagle to accomplish that feat since 2010 (B.A. Vollmuth).
