LAKE CHARLES, La. – The New Orleans Privateers women's tennis team (14-10, 4-7 Southland) fell on the short end of a two matches that went three sets in singles in a 5-2 loss to the McNeese State Cowgirls (12-7, 8-3) on Sunday at the Nancy Hank Tennis Center.

The Cowgirls got an 8-3 win from their top doubles pair to start the day. Then
Yasmine Rashad and
Hafsa Laraibi earned an 8-6 victory at #3 doubles to bring the first point down to both teams' #2 pairing. McNeese State prevailed as Sarah Jurakova and Vivien Borbely edged
Anna Segarra Rius and
Anja Luethi 8-6.

In singles, Laraibi capped off a stellar spring with a straight set win to level the score. The Privateers lost the next three singles matches to finish though which capped off the win for McNeese State and snapped a four-match winning streak. Segarra picked up the final Privateers point with a three-set victory at #4 singles to finish the spring regular season at 17-4.
