THE SERIES:

The New Orleans Privateers baseball team (11-21, 2-10 Southland) will face a shifted weekend schedule as they look to break a four-game skid against the Northwestern State Demons (17-15, 9-5) in a three-game series starting on Friday at Brown-Stroud Field. The first two games of the series will be played on Friday starting at 2 p.m.

With the threat of inclement weather in Natchitoches throughout most of the weekend, the call was made on Thursday morning to play a doubleheader to start the series on Friday. This will be the third time the Privateers have played a twin billing this season (all three occurrences in conference).

The Demons come in also having lost four straight. In the mid-week, Northwestern State lost to Sam Houston State on Tuesday. The Demons followed with a 9-6 loss at LSU on Wednesday. Garrett Logan hit his first home run of the season in the losing effort. The Demons scored three runs in the first two innings.

On the season, Adam Oller has pitched at least 8.0 innings in five of his eight starts and has three complete games. In his most recent outing, Oller pitched a complete game last weekend against Southeastern. Also, Nick Heath leads the conference in stolen bases (18). Heath stole three bases in a game at Lamar on Mar. 7.
