BOX SCORENEW ORLEANS, La. – The New Orleans Privateers women's tennis team (11-9) won their doubles point via a forfeit and finished off a 5-0 victory over the Jackson State Lady Tigers (5-16) on Thursday afternoon at the University Tennis Center.

The Lady Tigers had to forfeit the doubles point to start the match. With only singles to be played, the Privateers locked in for four straight set victories to take the easy win over Jackson State, which also marked their ninth home win this season.

Hafsa Laraibi took her match in a clean sweep, defeating Karina Ono 6-0, 6-0.
Soledad Calderon Arroyo also won her match at the top slot in singles by a 6-0, 6-1 mark. Also turning in singles wins were
Anna Segarra Rius and
Yasmine Rashad.

The lone senior on the roster,
Marta Sans, was honored before the match. Sans' singles match at the 2 spot went unfinished. Sans won the first set 6-0 and was ahead 5-3 in the second set before the match was called.

The Privateers will face off against Alcorn State on Friday. The match is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
