THE SERIES:The New Orleans Privateers baseball team (14-37, 3-24 Southland) will wrap up the 2015 regular season with a three-game split series against the Southeastern Lions (38-15, 22-5) starting Thursday in New Orleans. First pitch for the series opener is at 6:30 p.m. The two teams will also play the season finale on Saturday at Maestri Field at First NBC Ballpark while the Friday game will take place in Hammond.

The Privateers wrapped up their final mid-week game, falling 9-1 to the #1 ranked LSU Tigers on Tuesday night. New Orleans broke up the shutout in the ninth inning on a
Parker Jones RBI ground out. New Orleans was limited to just four hits on the evening. This season, the Privateers are 2-15 against Louisiana schools.

Southeastern is going for their first ever Southland regular season title in baseball and can clinch it with one win or one Northwestern State loss. The Lions are 2.5 games up heading into the final weekend. Coach Matt Riser is in his second season and boasts a 76-40 overall record and a winning percentage of .655.

The Lions lead the Southland in several offensive categories including batting average, runs, hits, walks, and stolen bases. Jacob Seward and Julian Service are 1-2 in the league in runs scored with 46 and 44 respectively. Southeastern's pitching staff has the second lowest earned run average in the league (3.41).
