NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans baseball team's scheduled game against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles has been cancelled due to inclement weather. The game will not be made up.
Both teams played each other for the first time in Hattiesburg on Feb. 24. The Privateers just picked up their seventh consecutive win, matching their longest winning streak of the season in a 23-3 triumph over Southern. The Golden Eagles notched their 30
th win of the season on Tuesday against Louisiana-Lafayette by a 7-2 score.
With the mid-week washed out, the Privateers will now turn back to Southland play when they host Central Arkansas in a three-game series starting Friday. First pitch for the series opener is slated for 6:30 p.m. The Privateers currently sit in sixth place in the conference standings.
