DAY ONE RECAP | FINAL RESULTS
Slidell, Louisiana- The University of New Orleans golf team finished at the top of the team leader board at the Loyola Wolf Pack Spring Invitational, Tuesday, at Oak Harbor Golf Course in Slidell.
The Privateers covered 27 holes over two days with a +18 score of 450, 9 strokes better than host Loyola University.
Homero de Toledo was the UNO player with the lowest score of the competition. After an opening round par-72, he followed up with a second round two-over 38 over nine holes for a two round total of 110, three shots behind the leader.
Phillip Nijoka of Loyola shot the lowest two-day total, 1-under 107.
Rounding out the day for New Orleans were
Max Hellstrom finishing sixth with a two-day total of 113 +5. Hellstrom had the lowest score during the first day, a one-under 71.
Jackson Smith and
Parker Johnson tied for 10
th on the leaderboard. Both shot 2-over 38 and finished at 8-over.
Privateers competing as individuals were
Nolan Lambert and
Michael Sotile who also finished tied for 10
th at 8-over and Ulisess de Toledo finishing 34
th with a 17-over 125.
New Orleans will return to the links Monday and Tuesday, March 12-13 at the Grover Page Classic in Jackson, Tennessee.
