Privateers Welcome Cowboys to Maestri Field

NEW ORLEANS – After a 10 game road trip the University of New Orleans (17-17, 7-8 Southland) looks forward to returning to Maestri Field to host McNesse State (13-20, 9-6 Southland) Friday at 630 p.m. the three game series continues Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.

ABOUT NEW ORLEANS
The Privateers were dominant, going 8-2 on their 10 game road trip. UNO will host McNesse in its first home game since March 25th. The team outscored its opponents 51-33. In the 10 game span, Owen Magee hit .395 with a triple, two doubles, two ribbies, and five runs scored and is the team leader with a .348 average. Beau Bratton follows with a .313 batting average with 20 RBI, a homer, three triples, seven doubles and 22 runs scored on the season.  
 
The pitching staff held opponents to a .201 batting average in the 10 game span. John Barr was spectacular on the mound during the road trip, going 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 16.0 innings of work. The right-hander struck out 14 and did not allow a run. After moving to the bullpen, Reeves Martin has been lights out going 5-5 in save chances nine strikeouts, and allowing just one hit.
 
ABOUT MCNEESE STATE
Shane Selman is hitting .298 with a team high six long balls, a triple, eight doubles, and 36 runs scored. Bryan Andrews is hitting .356 in 15 starts with two homers, four doubles and eight ribbies.
