The Longhorns tied the game in the fifth with a four spot highlighted by a two-run home run from Kody Clemens. Texas took their first lead of the night an inning later when the go-ahead run scored on a throwing error.

UNO regained the lead in the seventh as Magee delivered a two-out two-strike base hit to give the Privateers a 6-5 lead.

The Longhorns rallied one more time, tying the game in the seventh. The decisive inning was the eighth as Texas went ahead for good on a Zach Zubia solo home run.
