NEW ORLEANS – The 2019-20 Southland Conference schedule is upon us and New Orleans men's and women's basketball have two games on the docket this week. The men host Abilene Christian Wednesday at 7 p.m. and the women welcome Sam Houston State Saturday at 2 p.m.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
The Privateers (4-5) are 4-0 at Lakefront Arena this season. Preseason favorite New Orleans takes on No. 3 Abilene Christian (5-5) in a rematch of the 2019 Southland Tournament Championship game Wednesday at 7 p.m. UNO visits Sam Houston State, last season's regular season champion, Saturday at 2 p.m.
New Orleans is coming off its third consecutive 100+ point game, upending Williams Baptist 103-59 Saturday at Lakefront Arena.
Bryson Robinson posted 22 points and drained six triples in the victory. Wednesday is 'Twas the Week Before the Holidays
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The Privateers head to last year's Southland Tournament Champion ACU (7-1) Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and return to host Sam Houston State Saturday at 2 p.m. The Privateers are coming off a 91-69 win over Tougaloo on Saturday.
PROMOTIONS
New Orleans hosts 'Twas the Week Before the Holidays Wednesday for men's hoops and Saturday for women's basketball. The games will feature pregame milk and cookies and postgame pictures with Holiday Bruno along with a cookie decorating station for kids.
