NEW ORLEANS - One of the best New Orleans women's basketball athletes in program history, Randi Brown, will continue her professional career overseas after she signed a contract with Haukar of the Dominos League in Iceland during the offseason.
Brown was a four-year letterwinner with the Privateer program during the 2014-18 campaigns. She ended her career as a three-time All-Southland Conference selection which included back-to-back first team appearances on the teams during her junior and senior seasons. She was also named the 2016-17 Southland Player of the Year.
Brown ranks second in program history in total points (2,130) after she averaged 22.0 points per game during her senior season. The point total was good enough for fifth all-time in Southland Conference history.
She is also first in school history in three-pointers made (256), third in made field goals (710), fifth in minutes played (3,387) and seventh in steals (181). Brown ended her career with averages of 18.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.6 steals per game over 113 contests.
Brown is entering her second professional season after she most recently played at HyPo in Finnish Korisliiga last year. In 34 games the former Privateer was the best scorer on her squad where she posted 24.3 points per game to go with 6.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.0 steals. She was a main factor in her team winning the regular season with a 20-7 record and advancing all the way to the league's semifinals.
With her performance, Brown was awarded Eurobasket.com All-Finnish League Guard of the Year to go with a First-Team selection and All-Imports Team honors.
