NEW ORLEANS. – The University of New Orleans baseball team (11-7) will face the University of South Alabama (10-7) in a pair of midweek contests. Game one of the home-and-home will be at Maestri Field on Tuesday, while game two will be at Stanky Field on Wednesday, each contest is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch.
The Privateers and the Jaguars split the season series last year with each team winning on the road. UNO defeated the Jaguars by the score of 8-2 in late March.
Beau Bratton went 4-for-5 with a double and two ribbies in the victory.

Collin Morrill became the first Privateer since 2008 (Ryan Eden) to lead off a game with a home run when he did it on 3/15 at Northwestern State.
• Head Coach
Blake Dean secured his 100th win at New Orleans last week against the Ragin' Cajuns. Five of those wins have come against nationally ranked schools.
• Privateer pitchers have allowed 146 hits, which is second fewest in the conference. Only Northwestern State has allowed fewer hits this year (138).

Gaige Howard drew four walks in the series finale vs. Yale. The junior outfielder fell one free pass shy of tying the single game program record which was achieved twice, most recently in 1985.
• The Privateers have 39 doubles on their season total which ranks second in the Southland and 39th in the country. Individually, four players have at least five doubles.

Reeves Martin lowered his ERA to 0.93 after two scoreless appearances on the weekend. The junior has 13 strikeouts in 9.2 innings worked over 10 appearances.

- Holstein had his longest outing of the year last week against Louisiana (4.1 innings). He has allowed just one run over his last four appearances with 11.1 innings pitched in that span.
- McBride will get his first start of the season against the Privateers. The righty has seen limited time only pitching two innings. His last outing was against Nicholls, where he worked one inning allowing a run on one hit and striking out a batter.
WALK THIS WAY
Salo Iza is third in the Southland in walks entering the week. The junior second baseman has drawn 17 free passes after adding two to that total against Northwestern State. Iza also leads the team in stolen bases with four.
NO BLANKS
It's been 88 games since the Privateers were last shut out (May 13, 2017 against Nicholls). That is currently the fourth longest streak without getting shut out in program history. The top five streaks (with start and end dates) are as follows:

Reeves Martin earned his conference leading fifth save against Northwestern State on Saturday, putting him one save shy of tying
Ryan O'Shea on the all-time saves list at UNO. Martin on the season boasts a 0.93 ERA in 9.2 innings of work striking out 13 batters and is limiting opponents to a .156 batting average.

Collin Morrill leads the team in batting average (.333), and slugging percentage (.530). Morrill is tied for the team lead in homers with two on the season.

Mathew Oset has appeared in ten games this season spanning 15.2 innings allowing just two earned runs and ten hits, and opponents are hitting .175 off the righty.
ABOUT SOUTH ALABAMA
- The Jaguars went 32-25 last season including a 2-2 mark in the Sun Belt Tournament. Both of their losses came to top seed Coastal Carolina. In 2018, the Jaguars had a 17-5 record at Stanky Field but were 15-20 away from Mobile.
- The first weekend series for the Jaguars was against a ranked school (Clemson). Last year, South Alabama played 11 games against ranked opponents. They went 3-8 in those contests.
- In the preseason, South Alabama was selected to finish second in the East Division of the Sun Belt. Coastal Carolina, who won the regular season and tournament championships were favored. Troy, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, and Appalachian State were the remainder of the predicted order of finish in the division.
- Six Jaguars were selected in the June 2018 Draft. Among them was first round selection, Travis Swaggerty who was taken by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Swaggerty became the first Jaguar to be taken in the first round of the draft since Mike Zimmermann back in 1990.
- Jared Proctor had a solid first season with South Alabama. The southpaw appeared in 19 games and started nine. He went 5-1 with a 3.11 ERA. Proctor had 49 strikeouts against 27 walks in 55 innings pitched. He originally began his career at Kentucky but transferred to Wabash CC after one season.
- South Alabama has a long history with the Privateers. The two teams met in the first season of New Orleans baseball (1970). South Alabama has won 95 of the 154 career meetings. The Jaguars are also 14-3 against the Privateers in the last 17 meetings between the two sides.
- Mark Calvi is in his eighth season with the Jaguars. He became the fifth head coach in program history after taking the job at the end of 2011. He experienced immediate success, leading South Alabama to their 14th Sun Belt championship and 25th NCAA Regional appearance in just his second season at the helm. He owns an 11-3 career record against the Privateers as Jaguar head coach.
- Ethan Wilson has crushed the ball at the beginning of his freshman season. The Andalusia, Ala. native is hitting .397 with five homers and 22 RBI. Wilson has a hit in all but two games. His first career home run came in the Jaguars' season opener against Clemson.
- Eddie Stanky, whom the Jaguars' field is named after has an endless list of accomplishments. As a player, he went to three World Series and was a three-time All-Star. As a coach, he guided the Jaguars for 14 seasons and was the second winningest coach in school history. He also managed three Major League teams (St. Louis, Chicago-AL, and Texas).
