LAKE CHARLES, La. – The University of New Orleans (16-17, 4-11 Southland) visits Joe Miller Ballpark for a three-game set at McNeese State University (17-16, 4-8 Southland) this weekend.

Due to weather in the Lake Charles area, the series schedule has been altered. The clubs will play two games Friday beginning at 3 p.m. with the series finale at a time and date to be determined.

Michell has started every conference series opener this season. The southpaw struck out five in 5.0 innings versus Southeastern Louisiana University last week. Turpin has six quality starts this season and looks to return to form after falling to the Lions, while Swift earned his first collegiate win Saturday with two punchouts in 5.2 frames.
Deaton is expected to make his ninth start of the season. Two weekends ago, he went a season-long 7.2 innings in a game that ultimately went to the Cowboys 4-3 over Sam Houston State University. Ellison has been the ace with a 2.23 ERA in nine appearances (five starts). The left-hander tossed 6.2 innings of one-run ball in the 2-1 win over the University of Central Arkansas last weekend.
ABOUT THE 'PEN
The backend of the Privateers' bullpen has been one of the strongest in the league with
Mathew Oset and
Reeves Martin. Oset is 3-1 with 29 strikeouts in 27.1 innings, while UNO's program leader in saves (Martin) has a 3-0 mark with a 1.37 ERA. The right-hander has eight saves in as many opportunities and his 33 strikeouts in 19.1 innings.

McNeese has won 16 consecutive ballgames versus the Privateers dating back to 2010.

Gaige Howard leads UNO in hitting with a .364 clip and .457 on-base percentage and enters the weekend on a 17-game reached base safely streak.
Collin Morrill is batting .305 with three home runs as is
Luther Woullard (19 RBI).
Pearce Howard leads the team in doubles (11) and is tied with
Salo iza for the team lead in home runs (four).
As a team, the Privateers do not steal often but are effective when doing so, going 19-of-22, led by Iza's nine-for-nine on the basepaths.
