NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans (19-21) returns to the friendly confines of Maestri Field for a five-game homestand, beginning with the University of Southern Mississippi (24-13) Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

The Privateers defeated the Golden Eagles 2-1 as the pitching allowed just six hits. At the time, USM was ranked No. 23 in the nation and it was UNO's sixth consecutive victory.
Reeves Martin shut the door for his third save of the season in the win.

Martin is fourth in the nation in saves with 11. The junior right-hander has dominated this season, posting a 3-0 mark with a 1.08 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 25.0 innings. Martin is limiting opponents to a .133 clip.
AWARD WATCH
Gaige Howard was added to the Bobby Bragan Slugger Award Watch List joining
Pearce Howard on the prestigious list. Gaige is hitting .338 (tops on UNO) with 21 RBI.
Pearce Howard leads the club with five home runs.
Luther Woullard (.306, 26 RBI) and
Collin Morrill (.303, 11 doubles) round out the .300 hitters.
LAST TIME OUT
UNO scored 12 runs in the fifth inning and remained patient at the plate, drawing 14 walks. Morrill,
Wade Raburn (two hits) and
Pearce Howard scored three runs apiece,
Gaige Howard went 3-for-6 with four RBI and Woullard and
Pearce Howard each drove in three runs in the victory.
Christopher DeMayo tossed a scoreless sixth before Martin earned a three-inning save.
