NEW ORLEANS - Nineteen Privateer student-athletes completed their academic journeys and received degrees from the University of New Orleans during Friday afternoon's Spring Commencement Ceremonies at Lakefront Arena.Â
Graduating with the highest of honors were
Alyssa Quixley (women's basketball) and
Nicolas Kramer (men's tennis). Finishing their academic careers with grade point averages above a 3.9 the pair leave school with Summa Cum Laude honors.Track and Field's
Mark Golay earned Magna Cum Laude honors as well by finishing his time on the lakefront with a 3.7 or above grade point average. Â
Jordan Courtois (Track and Field),
Trang Dao (women's tennis), and
Ulisses De Toledo Junior (men's golf) finished their academic careers with Cum Laude honors by finishing with a 3.5 grade point average or above.
Five athletic-department staff members earned degrees as well. Student volunteer baseball coaches
Ryan Brewer and
Johnny Giavotella finished their degrees over the course of the season. Track and Field Graduate assistant
Clayton O'Callaghan andÂ
Nicholas St. Amant from the business office both earned Master's Degrees in Business Administration, while
Savanna Heller traded in her bright blue Captain BrUNO shoes for a degree in marketing.
NOTES
Nicolas Kramer finished his academic career with a perfect 4.0 grade point average...though they walked across the stage,
Mathew Oset (Baseball),
Ja'Nai Cameron (Track and Field), and
Brittany Johnson (women's tennis)
 are expected to graduate this summer...
Jorge Rosa (men's basketball) walked across the stage but is expected to finish his Master's degree next year...
Scott Plaisance Jr. (men's basketball) participated in the ceremonies although he actually earned his diploma in last Fall.
