LUBBOCK, Texas –
Reeves Martin earned his third All-American nod on Monday morning. This time, it came from the inaugural vote for the College Baseball Foundation. Martin has also won All-American status from Collegiate Baseball and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
The full list of both teams is below. Martin made the second team. There were two relief pitchers selected to each squad. Jacob Wallace (UConn) and Tyler Brown (Vanderbilt) made the first team while Martin was joined by Jack Little (Stanford) on the second team.
Martin signed with the Seattle Mariners after getting drafted in the 21
st round. He is currently with the Everett AquaSox in short season A-ball. Martin is the fourth Privateer currently in the professional ranks.
On top of the All-American recognition that he's garnered, Martin has also won Southland Relief Pitcher of the Year honors, earned All-Southland First Team status, and on Tuesday was named Southland First Team All-Academic.
He finished the season with a single-season program record 14 saves and a 1.03 ERA. Martin allowed just four runs in 35 innings of work during his campaign and he led the Southland in appearances during the regular season.
The teams were chosen from voting done by the Foundation's award committees. Martin was the lone Southland representative on the list and one of two from Louisiana schools. Kody Hoese (Tulane) earned Second Team honors at third base.
